Larger than Bhansali!!

Can you see hope? Bhansali perhaps visualised hope in his own unfathomable ways. B for Black and hence B for Bhansali; and yes B for a bravado.

If black was Bhansali's way of looking at hope in a assiduous manner, then Devdas would be the sad demise of such a hope. The protagonist was crowned with nothingness at the end. It was by no means his fault.Sharat Chandra Chottopadhyay cooked the imagery with such tragic intensity that one is bound to let the sheen go off the character in stupendous manner.

Devdas, as a story is certainly sad. The prince of a princely palace, falls head of over heels in love with the girl next door with no palatial patriarch; the PARAMPARA and the PRATISTHA of the Mukherjee clan stabs the no matching pride with a ferocious panache. Hey, do u think I was narrating the story? Forget it!! It is Bansali, who do that job. It is some kind of a witchcraft; a serene enchantment of this B...and it was getting bigger with each chapter. The drama was unfolding with an acute sense of occultism, with the way the protege would deliver the scenes. For a moment, I was wondering, the failing monastical attributes of the Chakravarty clan again bounced back on the face of Paro. That was when Ash was trying her beauty to outsmart the moon. To this galaxical Chakravartial revival, the Monarchial Dev fell cheaply. Thats when you would realise, that even though Bhansali's saga is inspired by the novel, the movie he made is entirely his, with even a timidest shot, has not derived any resemblance of the novel. Bhansali created his own Devdas clan.

The ubiquitous DIA in the hands of Paro that remains ominous till the last but end; the egoistical first impression of the mother, on his son, for becoming the second person to be met after her son coming back after an epoch; the lovable jurisdiction of Devdas, as in deciding not to look at paro and rather have a look of the moon; the conspiratorial moves of kumud, being made live from the word go and the usurping determination to dethrone Dev of the ancestral fortunes; plus the way dev trying to destroy every belonging of his if Kumud would not hand over the key to those fortunes; the hope binge on the Chakravarty lane of Paro becoming the bahurani of the Mukherjee family; the aftermath of the humiliation done to Sumitra by Kaushailya; the surprising fled of Dev from the family and the good bye letter to Paro; all looked so dramatic, that even though you are tired of work, you are bound to be in your toes with the awestruck treatment.

Till this point, all except Dev glittered. After this, when Dev glittered all sort of fainted. The separation from Paro released the pain inside Devdas; Devdas is all about pain! and Bhansali realises this! example: When Chandramukhy invites Dev for a tete-e-tete, Dev told her that even a TABAIF has the right to lead a normal life or even better, if a woman has no avatar at all, then of course she should not be at least a TBF. Only a men with deepest tempest can feel that. It is the pain that makes a Devdas of you, otherwise you are just the next Mukherjee junior, heir to the effervescent throne.

The magnificent rendezvous of Paro with Chandramukhy(CM)! I would rate this scene as one of the top three chapter of the movie. The meekness of CM, without losing the pride of having Devdas in her life versus the pride of Paro, of course with the desperation to get her love back; the presence vs the absence; fact was no one could get Devdas; the novel stressed on this aspect of Devdas; that he only loved himself; that Devdas is someone who needs to be despised or loathed. However, Bhansali has his views cut out. For him Devdas is lovable for all; for Kaushalya,for Sumitra; for Paro; for Chandramukhy and of course for the audience. Thats why Bansali broadens Dev's jurisprudence to the influence of Chunnibabu.With this RANGEELA man, Devdas strives to live a life, minus his self interests, that he would not drink for himself, but for Chunnibabu.

Dola Re Dola!! The Bansali extravaganza never set to end! It was not only a song..It was a war like showpiece. Beauty (Ash) vs Grace (Madhuri)!! The nightingale (Kavita) vs the Skylark (Shreya)!! the Music vs the Lyrics or perhaps Bhansali vs Bhansali. The Bhansali as a narrator of the fragile story and the Bhansali as the innate observer of this magnum opus drama. It is when you would realise that Bhansali kept Dev away of all glitters in life! Because Dev had to share the darkness. Nor he is the magnanimous light of anyone's life. Away from him, in the hope of getting him all shines in the palatial light; but in the hope getting acceptance and love, Devdas is set ablaze in the pursuit of pain.

This is Bhansali's way of letting hope demise.

About the Angel...

Oh!God, guess I am coming near to you too soon;
It is my dying hour of the sunset, ride to the moon.

I don't remember who wrecked havoc to my growing spring
Now I lay down like my life has no game and no swing.

The passersby would glance-stare and gaze;
My counterparts enjoy the rain in the nature's maze.
God I can't move, heaven I stay standstill,
I prayed for someone to feel, destiny where's the heal?

That was when I woke up on the touch of an angel;
In my dying hours I hoped for a life that will commingle,
My breaths were slowing down, when my life was breathing fast
Oh destiny! It was a new life and I knew I would last.

I declined many droplets of water and the taste of the white
He still fought like Hector when he saw a chance so bright,
Darkness lost its sheen when darkness produced light
Oh my lord!! This was so amazing, I enjoyed an awesome sight!!

He hugged me to give great warmth
He kissed me to increase my strength
My eyes saw the world wide open
This became my world when things started to happen..

As I recovered I wanted to thank him
No words however he would understand in my theme
I cried out my squrriling sound
"God bless you, coz of you my life is found"..
